Q & A About Up-Coming Schedule Changes

Q – When will the new schedule begin?

A – It will begin on Easter Sunday (March 27th) and continue throughout 2016.

Q – What will be the times of the worship services beginning Easter Sunday?

A – We will offer three worship service times – 8:15, 9:45, and 11:15 a.m.

Q – Will all three services be identical?

A – Yes, for the most part they will be the same. The music and message will be the same. The only difference may be a few additional instruments in the 11:15 a.m. service.

Q – Will the choir sing in all three morning worship services?

A – The choir will sing in all three services on a rotating basis (one week in the 8:15 a.m., next week in the 9:45 a.m., the next week in the 11:15 a.m. service) The weeks when the choir does not sing in a particular service, other special music will be provided, so the church will receive a variety of different music each week.

Q – Will the Sunday night schedule change?

A – No, it will remain the same with AWANA for the kids at 5:45 p.m. and a worship service at 6 p.m.

Q – What about LIFE Groups on Sunday mornings?

A – LIFE Groups are our small group Bible Studies.

  • LIFE Groups will no longer meet on property on Sunday mornings. Each LIFE Group will decide when and where they will meet. A complete LIFE Group directory will be given detailing this information on March 20th.

Q – What about Children’s Ministries on Sunday morning?

A – Nursery and Children’s Ministries will be offered during each worship service.

  • For 1st through 5th graders, the same Bible lesson will be taught each hour. Therefore, parents, if you will be on property for two hours (worshiping and serving) we recommend that your children worship with you in church for one hour and attend their children’s church for the other hour.
  • For our 3-year-old through K5 classes, the activities surrounding the Bible lesson will vary each hour for the sake of children who are on property for multiple services.

Q – What about my teenager?

A – Teens will attend worship service with their parents. It is so important that families worship together! We also encourage parents and teens to serve together as a family in a ministry on Sunday morning.

  • Teens will still receive plenty of interaction with other teens through a Wednesday night teen group (6-7:30 p.m.), teen activities, teen camps, small group meetings in homes, and mentoring relationships with leaders.

Q – How will Wednesday nights change?

A – Our focus on Wednesdays will be fellowship and Bible study. We will be offering multiple small group Bible studies all throughout the afternoon and evening on Wednesdays. Also, we will be offering a complete home-cooked meal every Wednesday night so that LIFE groups can eat together if they want to.

Q – Are all LIFE groups going to meet on Wednesday night?

A – No, we will have small groups meeting throughout the week to allow people the flexibility to choose a group that will work with their schedule.

Q – What about the Bible Institute classes?

A – These classes will be offered at a variety of times during the week as they always have in the past. A schedule will be given prior to the start of each semester.

Q – Why are we making these changes?

A – Bottom line – we want to reach more people in our community with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

  • Our changes in worship and LIFE Group structure will give us the parking and seating capacity to grow again – welcoming and reaching new people for Christ.
  • Our change in LIFE Group structure will allow our small group ministry to grow again and get more people connected to a small group which is so crucial in becoming more like Christ.
  • Our desire is to be much more intentional in our emphasis on every believer connecting with a small group. We have a desire to stress the importance of small groups in a greater way than ever before.

Q – What can I do to help my church during this time?

A – Great question! Great attitude! Here are some suggestions:

  • Pray for a smooth transition and more people being reached for Christ.
  • Invite people to come to church. We will have room in all three services to grow again.
  • Be willing to serve Christ. Many of you are used to being at church for two hours on Sunday morning, so why not worship for an hour and serve for an hour? We will be handing out a list of different opportunities to serve Christ very soon. Considering getting involved and serving Christ in some way.
